The pre launch, launch and sustain phases of a campaign
Launch library · evergreen read

A campaign rarely lives entirely in its launch moment, even though that particular moment tends to absorb most of the attention during planning meetings. The pre launch phase builds anticipation and prepares audiences to notice the launch when it finally arrives, while the sustain phase determines whether the campaign's effects last well beyond its opening week of activity.
Each phase asks something genuinely different of the creative and media strategy behind it. Pre launch content often teases without fully revealing the whole idea, launch content delivers the core message at full strength across every channel, and sustain content finds new angles on the same idea to keep it relevant once the initial announcement has already passed.
Campaigns that only plan carefully for the launch moment tend to peak early and fade quickly afterward, since nothing has actually been prepared to carry momentum forward into the following weeks. Treating all three phases as equally deserving of planning attention produces a campaign with a longer, more deliberate life than a single burst of activity ever could achieve alone.
